We would like to remind the parents that it is of utmost importance to fill in the ADEC survey as early as possible (an envelope was sent to you through your son/daughter on Thursday April 26, 2012. The enclosed letter details the steps required to log in the ADEC website and complete the online parents’ survey). Completing the survey will give you the opportunity to express your viewpoints, which will eventually reflect positively on your children and the school.

In order to enhance Islamic religion principles and promote Arabic Language standards, LiwaInternationalSchool, and in coordination with Al Ain Educational Office, organized two contests in Quraan Recitation (for the sixth year in a row) and Arabic Language Creativity (for the fifth year in a row) for private schools. Assessment of participants took place at LIS in April. Valuable monetary awards have been dedicated by LiwaInternationalSchool to the winners in both contests. The guest of honor from Al Ain Educational Office was Mrs Noura Al Rashidi, Deputy Director for Private Education. Mrs Al Rashidi, alongside the School Board conferred the prizes and certificates of appreciation to the winners and the referees.

In line with its ongoing cooperation with environmental agencies, Liwa International School took part in the Emirates Environmental Group’s twelfth Inter School Environmental Public Speaking Competition that took place on the 26th of April, 2012. The LIS team comprised 5 grade 12 students (Lina Haggag – Speaker; Misbah Syed; Haya Mahfouz; Hiba Emad; Loubna Sabouni) accompanied by Ms Mona Zahra. The LIS students were requested to build and present a strong case on Consumerism and its effects on the Environment. Competition between Teams coming from all over the UAE was tight. A panel of environmental experts was invited to evaluate the performance of the students on a pre defined criteria. Based on the final results, the LIS team earned the second place. Well Done….Congratulations!

From the 27th until the 29th of April, 2012, Liwa International School received teachers and administrators from around the UAE during the second batch of Kagan training workshops which were followed by an open house during which the workshop participants attended classes at LIS and observed the implementation of Kagan Structures. It is worth mentioning that Liwa International School is certified as an International Kagan Model School where teachers from around the world can come and visit so that they can learn the Kagan Structures and implement them in their schools, all for the benefit of all students.

Liwa International School receives the Khalifa Award for Education
In the field of Education and the Sustainable Environment ( 2010-2011)
Together we raised the slogan "Together for a better future for our children," and together we celebrate today the attainment of Khalifa Award for Education in its fourth cycle (2010-2011) in the field of "Education and the Sustainable Environment." His Highness Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan (Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affair, Chairman of the Board of Director of Khalifa Award for Education) conferred the Award to the school Board on the 20th of April, 2011.

معاً رفعنا شعار "معاً من أجل مستقبل أفضل لأبنائنا" ومعاً نحتفل اليوم بحصول مدرسة ليوا الدولية على جائزة خليفة التربوية في دورتها الرابعة (العام 2010-2011) في مجال "التعليم والبيئة المستدامة". وقد تسلم مجلس إدارة المدرسة الجائزة من سمو الشيخ منصور بن زايد آل نهيان (نائب رئيس مجلس الوزراء، وزير شؤون الرئاسة، رئيس مجلس أمناء الجائزة) خلال الحفل الذي أقيم بتاريخ 20 إبريل2011.
